About Isabelle Webb

BIOGRAPHY I was born in South Africa, in a little town called Middelburg, and brought up in Johannesburg. I did a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts (1987) at the University of Stellenbosch. I now live in Cape Town with my husband. We have one son. I work intuitively, drawing from what surfaces in my subconscious, dream world and daily experience. Art-making is sacred and I try to empty myself to allow spirit to speak through me, always being guided by truth and light. I try to stay open and flow with whatever surfaces in the moment. Nature has a huge and steady presence and I spend as much time outdoors as I can: walking, cycling, swimming and paddling in the magnificent mountains, forests, rivers and seas of the Cape Peninsula and surrounds. Nature provides endless nourishment and inspiration and I feel deeply grateful for the endless capacity it has to bring healing and peace. Through art I try to reflect its stillness, richness and beauty. It is a journey of endless discovery, both within and without. My aim is to uplift, illuminate and deepen reflection, contemplation and integration through art. It is a wondrous tool and gift. ‘From wonder into wonder existence opens‘ Lao Tzu I work in a variety of mediums, including oils, which is my favourite medium, but also watercolours, charcoal, pastels, pencil and printmaking. Performances have become a passion too.

What does that even mean? Our true homes are not confined to any walls, however large or small, comfortable or intolerable. Our true [...]

Once again I’m finding myself in this familiar predicament, wanting so much to share, with the intention of assisting in some small way, and not knowing which is the most appropriate or effective way of doing so; which platform to use.  (though i also find that word, ‘platform’ a little strange, it has connotations of [...]

March 2018 New intentions, to blog more frequently; trying to overcome my resistance to working on a computer, it's actually not so bad, one has to just find the right place to sit, look up at the green, immerse yourself in a tree every now and then, listen to the birdsong, feel the fresh breeze, [...]

...and so let us all, collectively, visualize this magnificent Mother of all pearls in her total splendour, glowing with health, already healed, whole, radiating pure light energy. Let us manifest Her into being through our collective pure intent. Let us polish her back to her true nature, removing the layers of dead skin and delusion [...]

This is a recent post I did on Facebook. My husband, Tom, much to my surprise, posted a photo of me busy painting a large forest,  yes, another one :) which resulted in some comments to which I responded, just to give you the context. Thank you all for your kind words about the forest [...]
